Ajax Star Ihattaren Absent Amid Alleged Criminal Threats Over Relationship

The absence of Mohammed Ihattaren from the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam would, according to media sources, be due to threats from the "criminal milieu". The player and his club deny it.
De Telegraaf claims that Ihattaren has a love affair with a young woman from Utrecht like him. This relationship, which the player wanted to keep secret, would have leaked. The young woman’s family would be known in the criminal milieu and would have threatened the player.
Ihattaren, his club and the police would have then decided that it was wiser to keep the player away from public places and events for a few weeks. Neither the police nor the club wish to communicate on the matter. De Telegraaf unsuccessfully tried to contact the player’s manager. Ajax claims for its part that the player "is not in shape", which would explain his absence from the pitches.
Mohammed Ihattaren made it known in an Instagram story that the information relayed by the media is false. "Sometimes the media make me laugh," said the 20-year-old player. His sister, Najwa Ihattaren, also reacted on Sunday evening on social networks by stating that "the family has nothing to do with the criminal milieu or the threats". She wishes her brother a speedy recovery, inviting people not to believe everything that circulates in the media.
