Ajax Star Hakim Ziyech Named Player of the Year, Set for Chelsea Move

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech has been named Ajax’s 2019 Player of the Year. This distinction crowns the many efforts of the Atlas Lion, on his way to Chelsea.
The playmaker of Ajax Amsterdam did not disappoint during this season. With 9 goals and 21 assists in all competitions, Ziyech was elected Ajax’s best player for the third consecutive time, the club announced on its website.
The Moroccan player, thanks to his performances, has revealed himself after a bad season in 2018. For two years, the versatile winger of Ajax has been the pride of the Dutch club. After this crazy adventure with Ajax, Ziyech has just signed a 5-year contract to join Frank Lampard’s Blues, after the covid-19 episode for an amount of 44 million euros.
Unable to say goodbye on the pitch in front of his many fans due to the health crisis, number 22 of Ajax was given a heartfelt tribute from his club. In a report titled "Wizard of Amsterdam" (Wizards of Ams), published Thursday on the Dutch club’s website, Hakim Ziyech relived his crazy adventures during his team’s matches.
His mother’s intervention, speaking in Darija, wishing him good luck in his new London adventure, was the highlight of this evening.
