Airline Mix-Up Sends Moroccan’s Remains to Algeria Instead of Agadir

Incredible fact! The remains of a Moroccan from France, which should have landed in Agadir, were found at Algiers airport. A big blunder by the airline’s funeral services.
While the family members of the deceased were waiting for the body of their relative, they discovered that the coffin that arrived at Agadir airport was that of an Algerian woman who had also died in France.
Faced with the situation, an exchange was made between the two airports, the same sources point out. The coffin of the deceased Algerian was transferred by plane to Casablanca from where she will be repatriated to Algiers airport, but via a European airport, since the air borders between Algeria and Morocco have been closed since the diplomatic rupture between the two countries in August 2021.
For their part, the Algerian authorities will proceed to transfer the remains of the Moroccan to her family in Morocco, using the same procedure. The coffin will return to France for its transfer to Agadir.
