Agadir Tourism Boost: Five Major Hotels to Receive $30 Million in State Renovation Subsidies

The State will grant a subsidy of 300 million dirhams to five hotel establishments in Agadir in order to upgrade their infrastructure.
These are the "Atlantic Palace", "Sofitel Thalassa", "Amadil", "Aferni" and "Amenou", indicates a press release from the Wilaya of the Souss-Massa region, according to which these operators represent the first batch of beneficiaries of the program to grant subsidies dedicated to the renovation and upgrading of hotel establishments in Agadir.
The main objective of the mechanism for granting this subsidy is the revitalization and support of investment in the tourism sector in order to improve the competitiveness of the tourism offer in the Souss Massa Region in general, and in the city of Agadir in particular.
According to the SDR Tourisme Souss Massa, manager of this program, the total cost of their renovation and upgrading is estimated at 300 Million Dirhams (total amount of the investment for the renovation) while the total amount of the subsidies granted by the program is 32.5 Million Dirhams.
Following this first wave of beneficiaries, the program intends to integrate in the very near future five other hotel establishments which are at the stage of agreement in principle and technical file study. Similarly, three application files having responded to the last call for expressions of interest are being finalized.
