The eighth edition of the cultural festival celebrating the Amazigh New Year will take place this year, from January 10 to 12. And it is the city of Agadir that will host this event under the theme "What regional strategy in Souss-Massa to implement the official character of the Amazigh language?".
On the program of this highly anticipated event, cultural, scientific and artistic activities that will take place in several cultural spaces and public squares in Agadir, indicates a press release from the organizing association, Tairi N Wakal. For the organizing committee, the theme chosen this year is in harmony with the current debate around advanced regionalization and the means to ensure its success. It is important for the Tairi N Wakal association to concretize the official character of the Amazigh language, reports Hespress.com.
As is customary, the first day of the festival will be marked by the organization of an international conference to be held in the Brahim Radi hall of the Agadir municipality. This year, it will focus on "Amazigh demands in North Africa", and will see the participation of intellectuals and researchers such as Fathi Maamer from Tunisia, Nacer Djabi from Algeria, Lahoucine Bouyaakoubi from Morocco and Fathi Ben Khalifa from Libya.
A second national conference will be organized on the theme "The Amazigh movement today: what strategy after the officialization of Amazigh?". Civil society actors such as Ahmed Arehmouch, Safi Moumen Ali, Lahcen Amoukran and Mohamd Akounad will take an active part in it.
As for the grand artistic evening, which will celebrate the Amazigh New Year 2970, it will be animated by Ahwach (Souss), Lahoucine Taous (Souss), El Batoul El Marwani (Hassani art) and Omar Boutmzougt (Middle Atlas). And that’s not all.
