Already a thousand orders recorded. The price of the Citroën explains the multiplicity of orders. The manufacturer claims that 56% of buyers were attracted by its price. The production capacity of the Citroën AMI is 20,000 vehicles per year.

"We are trying to offer an alternative to public transport, and to electric scooters and scooters," explains Vincent Cobée, CEO of Citroën, to BFMTV. "You arrive in an environment where the logical budget for a person is around 70 euros per month. This is the price of a Navigo pass [pass for public transport in Île-de-France, editor’s note], it is generally the monthly cost of a scooter".

And to continue: "We have defined a solution that seemed suitable to us: four wheels, doors, windows, something protective, two seats, a lot of interior space, something that allows 90% of urban travel to be done. Totally electric. In our opinion, this solution should be between 20 and 50 euros per month depending on the initial deposit or in a purchase value of 6,000 euros".
