Adani Group Plans Massive Green Energy Investment in Morocco

Indian billionaire Gautam Adani, whose conglomerate specializes in commodity trading and port operations in India, has chosen Morocco to invest in green energy. This is a mega project that will provide electricity and fuel to Europe.
According to the American newspaper Bloomberg, citing sources close to the file, the richest man in Asia wants to build wind and solar power plants and facilities to produce green hydrogen for export in the kingdom. This will be Adani’s largest clean energy project outside of India.
Once completed, the project could produce 10 gigawatts. This is almost equivalent to Morocco’s currently installed power generation capacity. The project’s development will be done in two stages. A first one that will allow reaching 5 gigawatts, dedicated to local use and a second one, intended for export to Europe, the same sources point out.
In addition, the Indian billionaire is considering a partnership with the OCP group for the sale of hydrogen, while the fertilizer manufacturer could use it as a raw material to produce carbon-free ammonia, it is added.
