Abandoned Newborn Rescued from Moroccan Forest After Passersby Hear Cries

A baby abandoned in the Ain Chkef forest, in the province of Moulay Yacoub, was found by passers-by who alerted the competent services, which allowed the newborn to be saved in extremis.
The infant was abandoned by his mother in an isolated area of the forest. His cries attracted the attention of passers-by who alerted the competent authorities. An auxiliary forces patrol ensuring security in the area quickly rushed to the scene. The local authorities and the Gendarmerie of Ain Chkef mobilized to transport the baby by ambulance to the hospital.
The Gendarmerie elements opened an investigation to elucidate this case. According to sources, the baby’s mother would have fled to an unknown destination after abandoning the newborn in the forest. The child would be the fruit of an illegitimate relationship, which would have pushed the mother to abandon him in the forest.
