2030 World Cup: Facing Morocco, Spain backpedals on the final!

Rafael Louzán adopted a much more diplomatic tone during an event in Alhama de Murcia, moving away from the certainties he displayed last Monday. While he had assured that the final would be played "here", he now emphasizes that the designation process is long. Spain, however, claims 55% of the weight of the organization against its Moroccan and Portuguese partners.

Twenty sites have been pre-selected for the competition, but none have yet been definitively validated by the competent authorities. Louzán reaffirmed Spain’s commitment as a global football leader, while specifying that there was still "a long way to go" before deciding on the exact location of the closing match, reports El Mundo Deportivo.

Regarding the 2026 deadline, the RFEF has designated Chattanooga, in Tennessee, as the base camp for the team led by Luis de la Fuente. The first two group matches will take place in Atlanta. The delegation will then travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, to face Uruguay on June 27, a clash considered one of the most attractive of the tournament.
