2022 Africa Cup of Nations: Morocco Seeded in Top Pot for Group Stage Draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has just officially announced the 4 pots for the draw of the 2021 CAN, scheduled for 2022 in Cameroon.
Initially scheduled for June 25, the draw for the final phase of the CAN will take place on August 17 in Yaoundé. The 24 teams will be divided into six groups of four teams. CAF has unveiled the four pots for the group stage draw.
Positioned in Pot 1, Morocco could face Egypt, who are in the second pot with Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Burkina Faso and Mali.
Here is the composition of the pots:
• Pot 1: Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria
• Pot 2: Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Guinea, Ghana, Burkina Faso
• Pot 3: Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Gabon, Guinea Bissau
• Pot 4: Comoros, Gambia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Malawi, Equatorial Guinea
