Morocco Secures World Cup Qualifier Spot with 4-1 Win Over Guinea

On Tuesday evening, Morocco faced Guinea Conakry at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat. This match, which was to be held last month in Conakry and was postponed due to a military coup, resulted in a 4-1 victory for the Atlas Lions.
It is a flawless run for the Moroccan national football team, which continues its march towards qualification for the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar. With its victory (4-1) over Guinea Conakry, Morocco qualifies for the third and final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
On Tuesday evening, the Moroccans emerged victorious thanks to goals scored by Ayoub El Kaabi, Selim Amallah and Sofiane Boufal. The only goal for Guinea was scored by Mamadou Kane.
Morocco’s team thus takes first place in the group with 12 points, followed far behind by Guinea Bissau with 4 points. Guinea Conakry occupies third place and Sudan brings up the rear with 2 points.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) will proceed with the draw for the play-offs in November. By taking the lead in its group, Morocco has every chance of being among the five best African countries in the next FIFA ranking. It could therefore find itself in Pot 1, alongside Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia and Nigeria.
