Ziyech’s Turkish Comeback: Trabzonspor Eyes Moroccan Star for Super Lig Return

The prospect of a return to Turkey seems increasingly plausible for Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, who absolutely needs to find a club.
Hakim Ziyech close to a return to Turkey? The Moroccan international is reportedly on the verge of joining the Süper Lig via Trabzonspor, the traditional rival of his former club, Galatasaray. Trabzonspor "is said to have entered into advanced negotiations with the player and his agent, and is preparing to submit an official offer in the coming days," report Turkish media. The 32-year-old player is said to have expressed his desire to return to Turkey, where he had a brief experience under the Galatasaray jersey.
Currently, Ziyech is without a club. He amicably terminated his contract with Al Duhail, after only four months of collaboration. He arrived in Qatar last January, after a period of "two or three months" of inactivity at Galatasaray, in Turkey. He scored one goal and provided one assist in 13 appearances, across all competitions.
If he joins a new club and starts to shine, Ziyech could be called up by Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, to participate in the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco 2025) with the Atlas Lions. Only good performances can motivate his return to the Moroccan national team.
