Young Man Killed by Train at Spanish Station, Investigation Underway

Said, a 22-year-old man, died on Thursday after being crushed by a train at the Herrera Mole station in Donostia (San Sebastián), Spain. An investigation has been opened to shed light on this tragedy.
Said and another person were on the platform opposite the one where a train was parked. As the train had departed towards Hendaye, they jumped onto the track, according to a note from Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS). Said was crushed by the train; his friend, on the other hand, is safe and sound.
An investigation has been opened to determine the causes and circumstances of this tragic accident. ETS has suspended the line between Herrera and Altza until further notice. As for the Donostia-Hendaia connection, it is maintained with a frequency of 15 minutes.
Said’s parents and friends paid him a final tribute, during a ceremony that took place on Saturday on the Blas de Otero square in Egia (Donostia).
