20 Years in France, 10 in Morocco: Retirement Simulation Yields €471 and 1,926 Dirhams a Month
After ten years of work in Morocco and twenty in France, retirement benefits are split between two pension funds. For an employee with reference earnings of 4,000 dirhams in Morocco and 2,000 euros in France, a simulation comes to 1,926 dirhams and 471 euros gross per month.

The Franco-Moroccan social security agreement governs the rights of employees who have worked in both countries. Each pension fund compares a pension calculated solely on the periods worked in its country with one based on the entire career, then pays the more advantageous amount. The two pensions are paid separately.

Consider an employee born in 1963 who claims their pension at age 67. Their twenty years fully credited in France amount to 80 quarters. For their generation, 170 quarters are required for a full pension. At age 67, the French calculation rate automatically reaches 50%, but the amount remains proportional to the quarters credited under the French system.
With an uprated average annual salary of 24,000 euros, or 2,000 euros a month, the formula gives: 2,000 × 50% × 80/170 = 470.59 euros gross per month. Rounded, that is 471 euros. This is only the French basic pension; the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension may be added, depending on the points earned.
Ten years in Morocco yields a pension of 1,926 dirhams
For Morocco, let’s assume the CNSS has recorded 3,120 days of insurance, equivalent to ten fully declared years. With reference earnings of 4,000 dirhams, Decree 2.25.265 provides for a rate proportional to the days of contributions for a career of fewer than 3,240 days.
The calculation is: 50% × 3,120/3,240 = 48.15%. Applied to 4,000 dirhams, this results in a national pension of 1,926 dirhams a month. For this formula, the CNSS uses the average salary over the last 96 declared months, where the insurance period allows.
Since May 2025, the CNSS has also granted pension rights from 1,320 days of insurance. A minimum of 600 to 1,000 dirhams is provided, depending on the contribution period. With 3,120 days, the minimum is 1,000 dirhams, below the amount calculated here.

Our simulation therefore gives a gross French basic pension of 471 euros and a Moroccan national pension of 1,926 dirhams. The pension funds must still apply the comparison required under the agreement to determine the final amounts. The two pensions may also be claimed on different dates.
To find out their personal entitlements, insured people can consult their statement on Info Retraite, check their recorded days with the CNSS and apply for their pension through the competent body in their country of residence.
