13-Year-Old Moroccan Girl Gives Birth After Alleged Rape by Uncle, Sparking Investigation

A 13-year-old child, raped by her paternal uncle, gave birth to a daughter, reports the daily Assabah. According to the same source, the baby was found near Douar El Hancha by a local resident. He immediately alerted the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Bouknadel.
In turn, they took the newborn to the Souissi maternity ward of the Ibn Sina University Hospital in [Rabat]. An investigation was then opened, which brought to light this sexual scandal.
The gendarmes quickly found the mother of the child, a 13-year-old girl. They were also able to discover that the father of the newborn is the paternal uncle of the girl, a fifty-year-old man who raped her and made her pregnant.
Questioned, the young mother confided to the gendarmerie elements that her mother had opposed her abortion for fear of being prosecuted by the justice system. As a result, she forced her daughter to drop out of school and locked her up at home until she gave birth. Finally, the mother left the newborn near Douar El Hancha.
For his part, the victim’s uncle did not admit the facts during his interrogation. The investigating judge then ordered the judicial police to take the DNA of the accused and the infant to conduct a genetic test.
