9-Year-Old Franco-Moroccan Wins French Sambo Championship

A Franco-Moroccan child is among the three 9-year-olds licensed to the Saint-Jean-de-Védas club who were recently crowned French Sambo champions.
Fares Belhadj, 9 years old, has written his name in the history of Sambo, a martial art and combat sport created in Russia in the 1930s, mainly mixing judo, boxing and wrestling. During his participation in the national challenge that recently took place in Rocbaron, in the Var, the equivalent of the French championship, this licensee of the Saint-Jean-de-Védas club was crowned French Sambo champion, reports Actu Metropolitan, which specifies that two young people from the club were declared winners.
Thanks to Fares Belhadj’s victory against the 2022 runner-up in the under 45 kg category, he was able to win a gold medal, allowing him to win the title of French champion.
