15-Year-Old Foster Child Wins French Talent Show with Piano Performance

Rayane won the 17th season of "La France a un incroyable talent" on Tuesday, December 20th. Who is this 15-year-old teenager who seduced the jury?

The adventure begins for Rayane, a 15-year-old teenager living in a foster home in Montreuil, north of Paris, following the online posting in 2021 of a video showing him playing the piano. He was starting to learn to play his instrument in Parisian train stations thanks to tutorials. The release of this video propels him. The teams of "La France a un incroyable talent" spot him. Last October, Rayane performs Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 14 on the show. His performance moves Marianne James, one of the four members of the jury.

Whose father is homeless and whose mother "is too sick to take care of him" reaches the final thanks to Hélène Ségara’s Golden Buzzer. His self-taught piano skills allow him to emerge victorious from the 2022 edition of "La France a un incroyable talent" broadcast on M6, where he performs a work by Chopin. He thus won the 100,000 €, an amount he will receive as an adult.

Happy to be the 2022 winner, Rayane declared in a statement to the newspaper Le Parisien that he is "passionate and very perfectionist". His dream, he said, is to become an interpreter and teach classical music.
