Wydad Casablanca Team’s Flight Diverted to Gabon After Technical Issue

The plane transporting the players of Wydad de Casablanca from the Democratic Republic of Congo after their match against AS Vita Club (0-0) had to make a stopover in Gabon due to a "technical problem".
On Sunday, Saad Drieb, vice-president of Wydad de Casablanca, spoke about the technical problem encountered by the plane that was transporting the Moroccan players. When the problem occurred, another flight was carried out "under good conditions and in the next few hours" for the Wydadis, following the intervention of the club’s board of directors, chaired by Saïd Naciri, he assured. What about the morale of the players? "The players are in an exemplary physical and mental state," said the official.
The match counting for the 5th day of group A opposing Wydad de Casablanca to the Congolese club of AS Vita Club took place on Saturday, March 18 at the Alphonse Massamba-Debat stadium in Brazzaville. The match ended in a goalless draw (0-0), which allowed the Moroccan players to secure their ticket for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League. They will face the Algerian club JS Kabylie in the 6th and final round of the group stage.
