Wrongly Accused of Rape, French Man Cleared After Police Officer’s Setup Exposed

Victim of a setup by a police major who was none other than the lover of his ex-wife, Mehdi, 30, a resident of Oise in France, has been rehabilitated, after being indicted for rape.
The events took place in Creil, France. Three months earlier, Mehdi, a thirty-year-old resident of Oise, had lived through the worst moments of his life. A trial for rape on his ex-partner was about to ruin the life of this former logistics agent who had since lost his job. "I fell into a real trap," says Mehdi. In reality, justice has finally realized that "the young man had been the victim of a setup whose main suspect is a police major. Who was none other than the lover of his ex-wife," reports Le Parisien.
The French daily reports that in mid-March, "this major and another officer from the Creil (Oise) police station were indicted in Amiens, for ’forgery in a public document by a public official’, a criminal qualification punishable by the assize court. For his part, specifies the media, Mehdi was completely cleared while his ex-wife was herself indicted for slanderous denunciation. "I’m much more angry at the police than at my ex," he says. Because in reality, for Mehdi, "the investigator who set up this dirty trick had an interest in getting rid of me. She, I know she was manipulated."
In the wake of this, Mehdi, who received the support of the association for the defense of litigants Robin des lois, filed a civil party in the investigation opened in Amiens, in order to assert his rights. He will be cleared and even manages to regain joint custody of his 10-year-old child.
Today, if Mehdi is angry at the justice system for its slowness, he is nonetheless the victim of almost daily harassment. "I am the victim of almost daily harassment from the former colleagues of the police officer indicted," he denounces, showing several recent traffic tickets that he disputes. "Sometimes, a police car remains parked for a while in my street, for no apparent reason. I’ve already been the victim of a setup, I no longer trust," he says with dismay.
