World Cup U17: After the 16-0, Nabil Baha wants a conquering Morocco against the United States
The national coach of the under-17s, Nabil Baha, is delighted with the victory of his protégés against New Caledonia in the 3rd round match of the group stage of the World Cup. The Atlas Lions say they are very motivated and determined to play against the United States and win the match.
On Sunday, Morocco crushed New Caledonia, in Doha, in the group stage of the U17 World Cup (16-0), miraculously securing their ticket to the round of 16 of the competition. Nabil Baha reacted to this resounding victory in a statement to the press on the sidelines of the training session held at the auxiliary stadium no. 1 in Al Thumama. "The match against New Caledonia has given a boost to the whole team and the players are now more confident," he stressed. "The players let go during this match and it will be the case against the United States, which is a great team, but I think our players have the ability to win this match."
For him, the group needed to believe in its abilities and have the trigger to win matches and they did it against New Caledonia. And to explain: "It was important to win this match and the players did it while breaking a world record." With the qualification for the round of 16, "it’s a new tournament that is starting," says the coach of the team. "Now there are only good teams like the United States, a solid group, but which remains an opponent like any other."
The U17 player, Wassim Dardake, assures for his part that "the victory against New Caledonia and the qualification for the next round have boosted the morale and confidence of the whole group." He displays serenity and determination before the next match: "We have started the preparation of the match against the United States in better conditions to get a good result." If "the previous matches have served as a good lesson for us to continue our journey in this competition," "we are aware that the match against the United States will not be easy, but we are ready to tackle it well," he analyzes. And to add "We are very motivated and determined to play against the United States and win them."
