World Cup Qualifier in Jeopardy: Morocco vs Congo Match Faces Cancellation Over Travel Dispute

The match between Morocco and Congo scheduled for Tuesday, June 11 in Agadir as part of the fourth round of the 2026 African World Cup qualifiers may no longer take place. The reason is logistical issues on the Congolese side.
The Congolese players reportedly refused to board on Sunday for Morocco after learning that the travel expenses were to be borne by them. The Congolese delegation is expected in Morocco for the match against the Atlas Lions counting for the fourth round of the 2026 African World Cup qualifiers.
But with this protest from the Congolese players, this match is at risk of not taking place. Last week, FIFA informed the Royal Moroccan Football Federation that the match will be played on Tuesday, June 11 at 8 pm at the Grand Stade d’Agadir instead of the Martyrs’ Stadium in Kinshasa, as originally planned.
