World Cup Controversy: Experts Claim Morocco Denied Crucial Penalty Against France

After Morocco’s defeat against France in the World Cup semi-final, experts including Rio Ferdinand have reviewed this match, highlighting some major refereeing errors, including a penalty in favor of the Atlas Lions.
Rio Ferdinand, a sports specialist for British television, believes that the clash between Théo Hernandez (the match’s first scorer) and Sofiane Boufal could have benefited Morocco. For him, the referee should have given Morocco the chance to equalize through this unnoticed foul, reports La Dernière heure.
"I think it was a penalty. Anywhere else on the pitch, the foul would be whistled. So why is it not a penalty? It’s certainly not a yellow card for Boufal." Even though the incident went unnoticed at the VAR level, Rio Ferdinand insists that there was a foul.
