World Bank Grants $500 Million Loan to Boost Morocco’s Digital Infrastructure Amid COVID-19

A new loan from the World Bank has just been granted to Morocco. It will be used to focus on access to digital infrastructure and services for individuals and businesses during this COVID-19 period.
Amounting to $500 million, this financing, which builds on the reforms already undertaken by the authorities, will allow access to more competitive digital infrastructure and services for businesses than for households. It will also stimulate the growth of the private sector by facilitating access to financing for startups and young entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, this financial support for the reforms will enable competition and universal access to the telecommunications and high-speed Internet services sector, and on the other hand, the "Intelaka" entrepreneurship, reports La Map. Small businesses that have engaged in the public procurement system will also be supported.
