UN Women Launches Campaign to Promote Gender Equality in Moroccan Households During Lockdown

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) has taken advantage of the lockdown to launch, in partnership with 2M, an awareness campaign called "Hit Ana Rajel". The objective of such a campaign, in the midst of the health crisis, is to encourage men to participate in household chores.
To achieve this objective, UN Women has planned a dozen awareness capsules, the broadcast of which has been scheduled on the Ain Sabaâ television channel. They "encourage men in the family unit to get more involved in their homes by taking part in household chores or by getting involved in the education and care of children".
Beyond any discourse, this awareness campaign cherishes the hope of a change in mentalities, and therefore of "social norms accompanied by attitudes in favor of gender equality". And this is where the strategy adopted in the design of the capsules is interesting. These are 10 capsules of about 1 minute for which UN Women "gives the floor to engaged men and family fathers, from different social backgrounds, who spontaneously share their daily lives and address their peers to invite them to be more responsible and to support their wives".
