’The Witcher’ Season 3 Filming Moves to Morocco’s Desert Landscapes

The filming crew of the series "The Witcher" starring Henry Cavill will be this week in Erfoud, in southeastern Morocco, to shoot scenes for season 3.
Launched in 2019, with a successful first season, "The Witcher" is a series of fantasy novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. It tells the story of Geralt, the Witcher, who travels through the country fighting monsters in a world where "people often prove to be more evil than the beasts," according to Netflix’s official synopsis.
After completing its production in southern Wales, the Netflix series "The Witcher" will travel to Erfoud to shoot scenes for its upcoming third season, the Redanian Intelligence site reported on Monday, noting that the production of this season will extend until next September, for a release in 2023.
"The country (Morocco) is a first for The Witcher, but in the past it has hosted productions such as Star Wars, James Bond, Game of Thrones," the same source points out.
And to add: "Although we don’t know exactly what scenes they plan to film in Morocco, it should be very easy to guess, as readers of the books know a very suitable place in the ’Time of Contempt’ universe that would require a Moroccan landscape: the Korath desert".
