Why has Walid Regragui excluded Hakim Ziyech?

The Galatasaray midfielder, Hakim Ziyech, was not selected by Walid Regragui for Morocco’s upcoming matches against Gabon and Lesotho. What is the reason?
According to a source close to the case who confided in the Al3omk site, this absence is linked to the difficulties encountered by the player in his club. Indeed, Ziyech was sidelined for several weeks following an injury and has experienced problems with Galatasaray that almost pushed him towards the exit during the last transfer window.
The Moroccan coach, Walid Regragui, has sought to clarify the situation by directly exchanging with Ziyech to assure him that he still counts on him. However, he asked him to settle his problems with his club and regain his best level in order to be able to reintegrate the national team. The objective is clear: for Ziyech to be operational for the Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco in 2025.
For now, Ziyech is struggling to impose himself at Galatasaray. He has only played 256 minutes spread over five games in all competitions. His contract with the Turkish club runs until June 2025, with a one-year extension clause if he participates in 70% of the first eleven matches.
His return to the field took place on Thursday, during the Europa League match against Tottenham. Ziyech came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute, thus playing his first minutes in several weeks.
