Walid Regragui annoyed by questions about Morocco’s victory at the 2025 AFCON
The question about the need for Morocco to win the next Africa Cup of Nations that it is hosting, repeated several times, is starting to annoy the coach of the Atlas Lions, Walid Regragui.
"At each press conference, you insist on the need to win the African title. I also aspire to this achievement, but it will not come by repeating this type of question, but rather by the will, the work and the support of the public in the stadium," Walid Regragui, questioned on this subject during the press conference that followed the friendly match between Morocco and Mozambique, is annoyed. Thanks to a goal from Azzedine Ounahi, Morocco won Friday night against Mozambique (1-0) in a friendly match, on the pitch of the Grand Stade de Tanger, chaining a 17th consecutive victory.
A satisfaction for Regragui. He pointed out that his protégés created many attacks against Mozambique without managing to convert them into goals. Without failing to salute the defensive performance of the group despite the few tests. He particularly praised the performances of Romain Ghanem Saïss who made his return to the national team and of Jawad El Yamiq. Also, he appreciated the first appearance of Anass Salah-Eddine.
After the victory over Mozambique, Morocco will face Uganda on Tuesday. In case of victory, the Atlas Lions will continue to gain confidence before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will take place from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 in Morocco.
