Vox Party Pushes to Replace Moroccan-Paid Imams in Ceuta with Spanish Appointees

The far-right party Vox has tabled a bill in the Assembly to demand the replacement of all "imams paid by Morocco" with others "entirely Spanish". This is the amendment that the party made to the MDyC’s proposal to declare Santiago Abascal "persona non grata".
"One of the striking facts in our city is that almost all the imams are hired by the Moroccan Ministry of Religious Affairs," observed the Vox party, which, in order to change this situation, has demanded the replacement of the "imams paid by Morocco" with others "appointed by entirely Spanish and independent organizations from other countries".
For the party, it is more important to discuss this issue "which is increasingly worrying the inhabitants of Ceuta" than to talk about the national president of its party. That is why Vox has tabled a replacement amendment to the MDyC’s proposal to declare Santiago Abascal "persona non grata", reports El Faro de Ceuta.
Vox had already warned that its president Abascal will come to Ceuta whenever necessary "to prove to the inhabitants of Ceuta that there are people in Madrid who take their problems into account and will defend the Spanish sovereignty of the city". During his last visit to the autonomous city, the president of Vox had denounced the existence of politicians and some citizens of Ceuta who "serve the interests of Morocco, both by action and by omission".
The proposal presented by MDyC, whose debates have been suspended and postponed in the Assembly after the Vox spokesman, Carlos Verdejo, described the Caballas and MDyC deputies as "pro-Moroccan", should take place in the coming days.
