Vox Criticizes Ceuta Government for Rescheduling Meeting Around Moroccan Eid al-Adha Date

The Ceuta section of the far-right party Vox criticizes the government for postponing the Council of Spokespersons initially scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, recalling that the Eid al-Adha festival is celebrated on Tuesday, July 20 throughout Spain and not on July 21, the date retained by Morocco.

Vox Ceuta criticizes the government for having "once again bent to the interests of pro-Moroccan groups" and postponed the meeting of the Bureau of Spokespersons announced for this Wednesday. For the far-right party, this postponement is not justified, especially since the Feast of Sacrifice is celebrated on Tuesday, July 20 throughout the Spanish territory, and not on Wednesday, July 21 retained by Morocco.

"The new date improvised by the government for the holding of the meeting, Thursday at 8:30 am, could cause a disruption in the starting time of the session in the Assembly convened at 8:45 am," warns Vox. The far-right party also adds that this decision will result in "a postponement of the plenary session scheduled for 9:30 am, given the usual duration of the last sessions of the College of Spokespersons."

"Ceuta and its public institutions cannot subordinate their functioning to the impositions of these groups who, instead of adapting to the work schedule of the autonomous city, want to adjust the functioning of their democratic institutions to the dates planned by Morocco for the festivities," argues the Vox party, which denounces this "maneuver" as further proof "of the submission of the government of Juan Vivas and the Popular Party to the social-communists, Moroccans and pro-Moroccan groups present in the Assembly."
