Veteran Moroccan Journalist Samira Sitail Named Ambassador to France

Samira Sitail, former journalist and former director of information for the Moroccan channel 2M, was appointed this Thursday as Morocco’s ambassador to Paris, a position that has been vacant since the recall of Mohammed Benchaâboun in February 2023. This appointment was made during a Council of Ministers chaired by King Mohammed VI.
Samira Sitail made headlines a few days ago after her appearance on the BFMTV channel where she had strongly criticized a certain French press that had implied that Morocco had refused France’s aid following the earthquake in the Marrakech region.
After her voluntary departure from the Moroccan media group on January 31, 2021, Samira Sitail joined the Spanish company Marco de Comunicación (MdC) as a senior advisor. This is one of the major European firms operating in the communication and e-reputation sector, as well as in strategic consulting, risk management and public relations.
The Franco-Moroccan journalist, who is also a co-founder of the network of African women journalists, Les Panafricaines, is putting her skills and network at the service of the Spanish group. In parallel, she was pursuing a Master’s degree in institutions and risk management at CELSA in Paris.
