Moroccan TV Executive’s 4 Million Dirham Payout Sparks Controversy Amid Financial Crisis

After 30 years of loyal service within the second national channel, Samira Sitail left her position as director of information last week.
Following her voluntary departure, Sitail would have pocketed the tidy sum of 4 million dirhams, against the backdrop of a glaring financial crisis at 2M.
The site Aljarida24 reports that the financial hemorrhage does not seem to be stopping at this level. A dozen employees of the second channel, with astronomical salaries, have also followed in their colleague’s footsteps by filing requests for voluntary departure.
In addition, 3 names are proposed to replace the director of information. These are, in particular, the editor-in-chief, Youssef Zouitni, the deputy director of information, Hamid Saadani, and the director of programs, Reda Benjelloun.
