Verdict Expected Monday in High-Profile Moroccan Cybercrime Case

The trial of Sakina Glamour and 2 other people will finally come to an end this Monday, 2 weeks after the Marrakech Court of Appeal adjourned the case.
The judge in charge of the case will have to deliver his first verdict on one of the most publicized trials of the year. Sakina Glamour, journalist Simo Dahir and the owner of the car rental agency had been sentenced in the first instance to 2 years in prison and a fine of 10,000 dirhams.
Charged in February 2020, the 3 defendants were found guilty of "Participation in fraudulent access to the computer data system", "deliberate participation in obstructing the functioning of this system, disrupting it and changing its processing method", "dissemination of image and statements of others without their consent", and "dissemination of false facts for the sole purpose of harming the privacy of individuals and defaming them".
The second verdict in this high-profile case will be handed down on January 6th. The trial, which will be marked by the absence of Dounia Batma, will take place in the presence of her sister Ibtissam and stylist Aïcha Ayach.
