VAR Drama Saves Morocco in Chaotic Draw Against Argentina

The match between Argentina and Morocco was marked by a chaotic end to the match, punctuated by controversial refereeing decisions and a long wait to know the final verdict.
On the field, the Atlas Lions quickly took control of the match, thanks to a brace from Soufiane Rahimi (22nd and 42nd). Dominated, the Argentines reduced the gap just before the break through Giuliano Simeone (45’+2).
An additional time of 16 minutes was granted to make up for the delay due to organizational problems before the match. In the final seconds, Albiceleste snatched the draw thanks to Cristian Medina (116’). A saving goal but tainted by a suspicion of offside.
Nearly an hour after the final whistle, VAR finally ruled on the controversial action. The Argentine goal was disallowed for offside, relaunching the match for three additional minutes of play and Morocco’s victory.
