Morocco’s Hakimi Slams Fan Behavior After Olympic Soccer Win Over Argentina

The captain of the Moroccan national team, Achraf Hakimi, has strongly criticized the behavior of some of the supporters during the opening match of the Olympic Games against Argentina. The incidents that occurred at the end of the match have tarnished the beautiful victory of the Atlas Lions.
Despite Morocco’s success against Argentina (2-1), the match was marked by scenes of chaos at the end of the game. The Argentine equalizer in stoppage time provoked an invasion of the field by some Moroccan supporters, as well as the throwing of projectiles. These incidents forced the referee to interrupt the match for nearly two hours.
In a message posted on Instagram, Achraf Hakimi expressed his disappointment: "We started the Olympic Games with an important victory. I deplore the attitude of some supporters during the match, which has tarnished the image of our loyal fans. Such behavior has no place in football. Dima maghrib."
The Paris Saint-Germain defender thus called for more respectful behavior from Moroccan supporters. The Atlas Lions will face Ukraine in their next match on Saturday, with the aim of continuing their journey in the Olympic tournament.
