Morocco Stuns Iraq 3-0, Advances to Olympic Football Quarter-Finals

On Tuesday, the Atlas Lions crushed Iraq (3-0) and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics. A source of pride for Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi.
"I am proud of this important victory for us. We played a great game today and made these wonderful supporters who came to support us happy," Achraf Hakimi told Hesport. He is particularly pleased with this victory. "We have achieved a historic victory and we are very happy with this qualification. We look forward to continuing this momentum," added the Paris Saint-Germain right-back. And he concluded: "The work we have done makes us proud. We seized the opportunities that presented themselves to us and we will think and prepare for the next match."
After beating Argentina (2-1), Iraq (3-0) and losing to Ukraine (1-2), Achraf Hakimi and his teammates top Group B. The Atlas Lions are followed by Argentina. With three points each, Ukraine and Iraq are at the bottom of the standings.
After their victory over Iraq, the Moroccan Olympic team will face the United States in the quarter-finals on Friday at 3pm (French time) at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris. The Atlas Lions will try to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Paris 2024 Olympic football tournament.
