PSG’s Hakimi Deflects Comparison to Mbappé Era After 6-0 Win

Friend of Kylian Mbappé, Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan right-back of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), avoided the question of journalists who, following the overwhelming victory (6-0) against Montpellier on Friday at the Parc des Princes, were trying to find out if the Parisians are currently better than the version with the Bondynois.
"No... You’re looking for problems, I don’t want to talk about that," Hakimi simply replied when asked by journalists if the current PSG was better than the version with Mbappé. With a broad smile, the right-back evaded the question, dwelling on the prowess of the Parisian club.
The Atlas Lion expressed his joy after the 6-0 rout of Montpellier on Friday at the Parc des Princes, indicating that this result is the fruit of collective efforts. "We played with good offensive efficiency and with a lot of comfort. The team includes new elements and other young people, and everyone is working with a team spirit, and we have shown that we can offer beautiful things."
The Moroccan right-back delivered a remarkable performance in this match, scoring the fourth goal and providing the assist for the sixth goal scored by South Korean Lee Kang-In. A few weeks ago, Hakimi achieved the historic feat of winning the bronze medal with the Moroccan Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
