FIFA Rejects Argentina’s Protest Over Olympic Qualifier Loss to Morocco

FIFA has definitively ended the Argentine hope of contesting their defeat against Morocco during the Paris Olympic Games. The Disciplinary Commission of the world body has rejected this Saturday the protest filed by the Argentine Football Federation.
This decision, which closes the chapter of this controversy, is based on Article 18 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, according to an official document revealed by the international football body.
To recall, the Albiceleste had requested the intervention of FIFA after their 2-1 defeat against the Atlas Lions. The match had been interrupted following the invasion of the field by spectators, before resuming. The referee had then used video assistance to verify the validity of the second Moroccan goal, which was ultimately disallowed for offside.
