Unexpected Landings in Mallorca Spark Security Alert, Echoing 2021 Incident

The surprise landing of two flights destined for Germany from Morocco and Namibia at Palma de Mallorca airport (Spain) put the National Police and the Civil Guard on alert. They feared a repeat of what happened on November 5, 2021 at Palma Son Sant Joan airport, where Moroccan migrants fled after the emergency landing of an Air Arabia Morocco plane.
On Friday morning, two flights from Morocco and Namibia bound for Germany made unexpected stops on the runways of Palma de Mallorca airport, requiring the mobilization of the national police, the civil guard, private security companies, health services, firefighters, as well as personnel from various areas of Palma airport, reports the news site Majorca Daily Bulletin. The authorities feared reliving what happened on November 5, 2021 at Palma Son Sant Joan airport, but this was not the case. These incidents were resolved without incident, it is assured.
On November 5, 2021, a flight from the company Air Arabia from Morocco to Turkey had made an unexpected stopover on the runways of Palma airport at 8:30 pm after reporting that a diabetic passenger was feeling unwell and needed urgent medical care. It was actually a false medical emergency to illegally enter Spain. In total, 24 Moroccans, all aged between 20 and 23, except for two in their forties, had fled. All these illegal migrants, except for the two older ones, were finally arrested in various places in Majorca.
