Unauthorized Parking Fees Scam Hits Salé Motorists, City Officials Deny Involvement

In Salé, car guards do not back down from the wave of widespread protest against their abusive practices. They have been cunning with the town hall by offering parking tickets with inscriptions reserved only for the City Council.
Car guards have found a new trick to swindle motorists. They present parking tickets bearing inscriptions reserved for the city council, with a rate of 10 DH per day instead of 2 DH as proposed by the Salé town hall, reports Al Akhbar. Vacationers fall into their trap.
The town hall denies any involvement in this matter. According to the explanations of one of the deputy mayors, the City Council has not adopted any model of parking tickets that car guards must use, and any use of ticket models initially reserved for the local development company in charge of parking issues is purely illegal.
He also indicated that according to the local tax order, the parking rate is set at 2 DH per day and not 10 DH, the amount written on the tickets offered by the car guards. The town hall official assured that the city council would take appropriate measures to fight this anarchy. He also called on citizens to report these abuses to the authorities so that sanctions can be applied.
