Ukraine Seeks to Boost Grain Exports to Morocco Amid Supply Concerns

Improving the Kingdom’s supply of cereals is a major concern for Moroccan importers and Ukrainian exporters. In this sense, they have conducted in-depth reflections on the subject.
The National Federation of Cereals and Legumes (FNCL) had welcomed two high-level representatives of the Ukrainian cereal sector to Casablanca on November 15. Together, they reviewed the characteristics of the Ukrainian product, production volumes, infrastructure and the outlook for the evolution of the Ukrainian sector, reports La Vie éco.
According to Hassan Kettani, honorary consul of Ukraine in Morocco, the absence of direct banking relations is the first constraint to be lifted in order to boost trade with the Kingdom in the cereal sector where the risks are very high.
For his part, Jamal M’hamdi, president of the FNCL, spoke about the objective of the Casablanca meeting. According to him, it is to continuously improve the supply of the Kingdom, which remains one of the major importers and consumers of cereals at the continental and global level.
