UFC Star Khabib Nurmagomedov Declines April Fight Due to Ramadan Observance

While he was supposed to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 200 in April, the Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov has declined the offer due to his religious beliefs and his health.
The return of the young lightweight, expected for this month of April, after a long preparation period, will no longer be possible. One of the main reasons behind his choice is the Ramadan period.
According to Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is defending his third lightweight title on April 18, the date of the fight coincides with the Ramadan period. According to him, this date falls between the fasting period and Eid-al-fitr (day of celebration of the end of Ramadan). This period makes the training conditions more difficult for fighters who observe it every year.
Nurmagomedov, who had experienced early career starts with injury series, does not want to take any more risks. He prefers not to fight due to the constant fatigue and dehydration that the boxer faces during this period in the ring.
As for the Dagestani, this Ramadan period is rather devoted to good times spent with his family, or at the mosque for prayer, not forgetting of course the training.
