UAE Crown Prince Visits Morocco Amid Gulf Support for Territorial Integrity

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan is on a private visit to Morocco since Monday, December 20, 2021.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, arrived in Morocco last Monday for a private visit, reports Barlamane. This visit comes the day after the consultative summit of the six countries that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) - Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar - held in Riyadh. During this meeting, the GCC leaders declared themselves in favor of Morocco’s territorial integrity.
The United Arab Emirates and Morocco maintain good relations. In 2020, Abu Dhabi had opened a general consulate in Laâyoune, in the Sahara.
This year, on March 29, the Delegate Minister to the Head of Government in charge of Administration and National Defense, Abdellatif Loudiyi, received a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by Major General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi. The two officials discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly the bilateral military cooperation and the means to strengthen it through the promotion of interoperability between the armies of the two countries and the sharing of expertise.
