FC Twente’s Younes Taha Affirms Commitment to Moroccan National Team

Trained in the Netherlands, Younes Taha does not regret having chosen to defend the colors of Morocco. The young attacking midfielder of FC Twente, who participated in the triumph of the Atlas Lions during the U23 AFCON last year, fully assumes his decision.
"My choice to play for Morocco is a final decision, even though I was born and raised in the Netherlands, that I speak the language of this country, and that everything concerning me is here," confides the player who plays in the Eredivisie.
The Moroccan epic during the 2022 World Cup played a decisive role in his choice. The Dutch talent was particularly struck by the atmosphere during the international matches: "The national anthem, when I sang it with the players during the Africa Cup, was a wonderful feeling that I might not feel with the Netherlands. Thousands of supporters sang with us."
The 23-year-old player has promising statistics with his club. Last season, he stood out by participating in 20 matches, finding the net three times and providing one assist.
This season, Taha has already played six games, in all competitions, and remains under contract with FC Twente until 2027.
