Turkish Return? Ziyech Eyed by Süper Lig Newcomers Gençlerbirliği
A new Turkish club is interested in the profile of Moroccan international midfielder Hakim Ziyech. A potential agreement will mark his return to Turkey.
Hakim Ziyech could make his return to Turkey. According to the Turkish press, Gençlerbirliği, recently promoted to the Süper Lig, plans to recruit the Moroccan midfielder during this summer transfer window. The club is said to have already contacted the player’s representative. In case of an agreement, Ziyech will have a new experience in Turkey after his stint at Galatasaray between August 2023 and January 2025.
Currently, Ziyech is a free agent. He mutually terminated his contract with Al Duhail, after only four months of collaboration. He arrived in Qatar last January, after a period of "two or three months" of inactivity at Galatasaray, in Turkey. He scored one goal and provided one assist in 13 appearances, across all competitions.
