Turkish Retailer BIM Launches Major Logistics Hub in Marrakech

The Turkish retail giant BIM is taking a new step in Morocco by inaugurating a state-of-the-art logistics platform in Marrakech. In the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, the Turkish ambassador to Morocco and many personalities, the group officially opened the doors of this infrastructure described as strategic.
This new 130 million dirham investment, which covers 40,000 m² including 16,000 m² of buildings, will allow BIM to optimize its supply chain and strengthen its distribution network, particularly to the southern provinces of the Kingdom. "This platform will help better meet the needs of consumers in the Marrakech-Safi and Agadir regions," said Ryad Mezzour during the inauguration.
In addition to its impact on logistics, this new infrastructure will boost local employment, with the creation of 1,000 direct and indirect jobs. The group, which now has nearly 800 stores and 5,000 employees across the Kingdom, is also banking on the development of partnerships with local producers.
"Morocco represents a key market for us," said Haluk Dortluoğlu, chairman of BIM’s board of directors. A partnership signed in 2022 with the Ministry of Industry and Trade aims to increase the share of Moroccan products on BIM shelves. By 2025, the group is committed to reaching 80% of food products and 90% of textile products labeled "Made in Morocco" among its own brands. The Moroccan government is counting on it.
