Tunisian Dairy Giant Land’Or to Open Cheese Factory in Morocco

Tunisian cheese will soon arrive on the tables of Moroccans, with the upcoming establishment of the "Land’Or" company, one of the leaders in dairy products in Tunisia. It has just announced the construction of a factory in Morocco.
This factory, located in Kénitra, should have a capacity of 5,000 modular tons, reports "Jeune Afrique" citing the company’s managers, specifying that the site will increase the Group’s production by 20 to 25%.
"Land’or" has actually been established in Morocco for several years. It employs more than twenty people there, more precisely in Casablanca. This factory will therefore allow it to manufacture its products directly on site.
"Given its geographical proximity to the region, its developed logistics infrastructure and its possible entry into ECOWAS, Morocco was a logical place to set up," explains a company official, who mentions some obstacles: compliance with the cold chain, transport and storage as well as the low purchasing power of Moroccan consumers. According to "Jeune Afrique", "Land’or" will therefore have to adapt to these constraints.
For this factory in Kénitra, an investment of 120 million dirhams is planned, largely provided by own funds.
