Transavia France relaunches a route to Marrakech

The Dutch low-cost Transavia has resumed the Rennes-Marrakech air route, thus responding to the growing needs of businesses and residents of Ille-et-Vilaine and Brittany. The resumption of this route also facilitates business and leisure travel.

Since Sunday, Transavia has relaunched the air link between Rennes in Brittany and Marrakech (Morocco). The flights are operated every Sunday (departure from Rennes at 2:25 pm, departure from Marrakech at 10:25 am) and every Thursday (departure from Rennes at 3:30 pm, departure from Marrakech at 11:30 am). These two weekly frequencies "thus offer increased flexibility for business and leisure travelers," notes Air Journal.

"The reopening of the Rennes-Marrakech line is a testament to our commitment to always better meet the mobility needs of the people and businesses in our region. This link strengthens our position as a connectivity hub and driver of economic development," said Yannick Bouiller, director of Rennes Bretagne airport.

In addition to the resumption of the Rennes-Marrakech line, Transavia plans to inaugurate on November 7 the line to Montpellier from Rennes Bretagne Airport. It also plans to increase flights to London Gatwick and Toulouse in December and the February holidays. The low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group also plans to open a new line from Paris-Orly to Chisinau in Moldova. Two weekly flights will be operated (on Mondays and Fridays) starting July 27, 2025.

"We are delighted to take our first steps in Moldova, an interesting new market for us, particularly thanks to affinity tourism. As an airline, we are committed to strengthening the ties between the countries we serve. This is the case for France and Moldova, which are forging strong diplomatic, economic and cultural ties thanks to the Moldovan diaspora established in France," said Nicolas Hénin, Deputy Managing Director of Commercial and Marketing for Transavia France. He will specify that the company is "eager to welcome" its first passengers on board this new line as of July 07 next.
