The Boeing 737-800 had left Marrakech-Ménara Airport for Brest, in Brittany. But mid-flight, a cabin depressurization forced the crew to change course. The aircraft then headed for Porto, in northern Portugal, where emergency services were mobilized ahead of its arrival.

The flight was TO9813, operated by a Boeing 737-800 registered as F-GZHM. The Flightradar24 flight history confirms that it was diverted on Friday, October 30, to Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, instead of its originally scheduled French destination.

The Portuguese airport activated its alert system to receive the aircraft. According to local media, a level 1 alert—the lowest level in the airport emergency system—enabled ground teams to prepare for the response.

Four passengers suffer anxiety attacks

Medical services were alerted at 3:40 p.m. local time. When the plane landed, four people needed assistance. All had suffered anxiety attacks, the Portuguese National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) said, as quoted by the Lusa news agency in Observador.

One of them also complained of severe head pain. Emergency responders decided to take the passenger to hospital for further care. The other three received assistance at the scene.

The incident occurred on a route that Transavia operates regularly between Marrakech and Brest. In 2025, the airline announced it would extend the service, which is aimed in particular at travelers connecting Brittany with Morocco.

The following day, Saturday, October 31, another Transavia flight linked to Morocco had its journey interrupted: TO3004, which had departed Paris-Orly for Agadir, returned to its point of origin.
