Transavia Expands Routes: New Flights to Morocco and Albania from Nantes

The airline Transavia is launching two new destinations this summer, including one to Morocco from Nantes airport.
Transavia France, the low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, is accelerating the development of its network from its Nantes base. The company is launching two new destinations this summer: Tirana (Albania) and Essaouira (Morocco), reports Ouest France. The new Nantes-Essaouira route will be inaugurated on July 11, 2025. The low-cost subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group will operate one flight per week every Friday, starting at €48 including tax for a one-way ticket. It plans a third air link between Nantes and Hurghada. This will be launched this winter. It also plans to operate, for the first time in summer, its Nantes-Hurghada (Egypt) route. A decision motivated by the positive results recorded this winter.
Volotea is also interested in North Africa. The Spanish company will offer 2 million seats from Nantes in 2025, 7% more than in 2024. However, it plans to open only one new route, to Patras-Araxos, Greece, this summer. "We would like to reach 65 destinations by 2030, to Spain, Italy, but also Scandinavian countries and North Africa," explains the company. As the leading airline at Nantes Atlantique, Volotea will operate flights to Sweden, Norway, but also Algeria, already served from Bordeaux, and possibly Tunisia.
"Nantes is our second home," smiles Carlos Muñoz, CEO and founder of the Barcelona-based company.
