Transavia Cancels 140 Flights, Including Morocco Routes, Due to French Air Traffic Controller Strike

Following a strike by French air traffic controllers, the low-cost airline Transavia has decided to cancel many flights this Friday, September 16, including some to Morocco.
Bad news for Transavia. The low-cost company announced the cancellation of 140 flights to and from Paris. Flights to Marrakech and Oujda are affected by this cancellation caused by the strike of French air traffic controllers, reports Air Journal.
"The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) has thus asked the airlines to reduce their flight schedule by 50% from all French airports. Transavia has consequently been forced to cancel part of its flights," explains the low-cost subsidiary of Air France on its website.
Passengers affected by the canceled flights will have no choice but to wait or accept the alternatives that the company intends to offer them, such as a free rebooking or a full refund. "Transavia regrets this movement and is doing everything in its power to limit its impact on its customers. All the company’s teams are mobilized to assist them in their procedures," assures the airline company, which publishes on its website an updated list of canceled flights.
Transavia France is not the only company affected by this air traffic controller strike. Air France has also announced the cancellation of 55% of its short and medium-haul flights and 10% of its long-haul flights.
